The moment you step into Taino's Kitchen, you're greeted by a lively atmosphere adorned with native Taino decor, evoking the spirit and warmth of Puerto Rico. The menu is a treasure trove of iconic dishes bursting with flavor and heritage. Standouts include the Mofongo, a classic Puerto Rican staple of mashed green plantains, served with a variety of mouthwatering proteins like succulent roast pork (Mofongo De Pernil), spicy shrimp, or tender chicken. The Pernil Y Arroz Con Gandules offers melt-in-your-mouth slow-roasted pork paired with fragrant pigeon peas and rice, a comforting and hearty favorite. Guests rave about the Alcapurrias De Guineo, fried savory fritters filled with the perfect balance of meat and yuca, showcasing textures that are crispy on the outside while tender within.
Diners with a sweet tooth should not miss the creamy, perfectly set flan — a silky, caramel-topped dessert that completes the meal with a gentle kiss of sweetness. The rich flavors of the Oxtails and the robust Creole sauces featured in dishes like the Mofongo Chuleta A La Criolla add complexity and soul to the menu. Not to be overlooked, the fried plantains — both tostones and sweet variations — provide the perfect crunchy or caramelized accompaniment to any plate.
Customer testimonials consistently highlight the freshness and authenticity of the fare. One guest, Danisha D., describes feeling “belly full and sooo satiated” after savoring the seafood medley and pork-and-shrimp mofongos, calling the accompanying garlic sauce “perfect.” Another visitor, Ellianna Torres, praises the immersive decor and speedy service, noting that eating inside felt “like I was in Puerto Rico.” Matchazen’s mention of the chicken criollo, alcapurrias, and hearty beef stew echoes the sense that every dish at Taino’s Kitchen is thoughtfully prepared and deeply satisfying.
Service here reflects the spirit of Caribbean hospitality: warm, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. While the ambiance is lively and bustling, the staff maintain a sense of care that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another diner.

Tainos is a vibrant and beautifully decorated spot with a lively atmosphere. While parking on the street can be a challenge due to the small lot, the experience is well worth it. The food is absolutely delicious, making it a must-
We had the chicken criollo, alcapurrias and beef stew. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. And they also serve a good coffee too.
Im writing this as I sit belly full and sooo satiated by the meal I just had at Tainos Kitchen. We put the seafood medley and the pork and shrimp mofongo and it was so delicious. I love garlic so the sauce was perfect. Service was excellent, both staff and customers are friendly.
Overall great place! Taino kitchen offers authentic Puerto Rican food that is very fresh and tasty. The inside was decorated with native Taino decor, they are from Isabela. It was hot inside, felt like I was in Puerto Rico. The outside was decorated just like San Juan, with the umbrellas and flags! The ladies working there were very nice and helpful! Food came out quick! I ordered all the starters and it was delicious. The pink sauce was only ketchup and mayo, I wish it had a bit more seasoning. The beef empanadas didn’t have a lot of flavor and it was a little oily. The papa rellanos were very very good - I wish there was either olives or peppers mixed in the meet to give it more flavor. To eat I ordered beef with onions, the beef was cooked perfectly- I didn’t even need to use a knife. The beef was flavored perfectly and not salty at all. I wanted white rice and beans but they ran out. I love that, really shows they cook fresh and use fresh food. The maduros weren’t too mushy and were delicious. The churrasco wasn’t my favorite- a bit dry. The pernil was a little dry and needed some salt, maybe a bit more flavor. The seafood was delicious! The guava and passion fruit juices were fresh, thick, not very sweet. Overall, everything was delicious! I would come back to get, and I definitely recommend. Can’t wait to go back
Very beautiful, loved the place. I just didn't like when im eating some lady came to the table selling some stuff . ...
My first time here. I ordered Mofongo w/Pollo Asado with mojito sauce and garlic sauce as well. The chicken was excellent! Fell off the bone tender. The Mofongo was good and would have been amazing if it had a little more moisture. It was very dry but delicious nonetheless. The woman who helped me was very pleasant. I did not wait all that long for take out. I will certainly return, now that I know there is parking available right next to the restaurant.
